I wrote this for my mother, Arlene, the bravest woman I've ever known.

Mom

Tami and her Mommy

You have always made me shine
And stand up on my own.
Yet all those times you stood next to me.

You have always let me fly
And soar against the wind.
Yet all those times you flew next to me.

Is it any wonder?

You have always let me dream
And walk above the clouds.
Yet all those times you kept me on the ground.

You have always let me try
And learn with every fall.
Yet all those times you caught me on the way.

Is it any wonder?

You are the wings that lift me.
You are the wind I need to fly.
You are the love that saved me.

Is it any wonder that because of you
I am alive.

I wrote this for my grandmother, Margaret "Dottie" Sizer, when she passed away.

Gram's cardinal, always my guide.

      A Tear

You taught me to come back fighting
When up against a wall.
You taught me to use my feet again
To stand whenever I fall.

You taught me to laugh out loud
Whenever the joke's on me.
You taught me to never take to heart
Other’s jealousy.

You taught me to love with all my heart
For love not to disappear.
Yet between the strength, the laughter, and love
Forgive me if I shed a tear.

To my cousin Kari’s son, Jakob, when he was born in 2000.

With one breath
You arrive.
The magic of your presence…
The grace of your innocence…
He has blessed us.

With one breath
You are loved.
The magic of unconditionally…
The grace of eternity…
He has blessed us.

With one miracle
You are life.
The magic of your presence…
The grace of your innocence…
He has blessed us

With you.
