My Love Affair With Food .
I live to eat.
I guess my love affair with food is more like a love-hate relationship. I love most food - pizza, cheese, chocolate, ice cream, and comfort foods are my passions. I love coffee and wine. I love all things bread.
I think there was a cheese I didn't like once. I don't like asparagus that's tough so I tend to shy away from it. There may be a fish here and there I don't like. I don't like walnuts just to eat them but if you put them in your brownies and the brownie isn't dry, I'll suck it up and eat it. Ew, and liver, gross meats like that? Forget it. No way.
I eat to live.
I lost 40 pounds going gluten-free and sugar-free. I love almond flour and honey and agave nectar. I was stronger both mentally and physically.
I'm not 100% gluten-free or sugar-free anymore, but I do try...everything in moderation.
I think when you love to eat you have to love to cook. I rarely make something the same way twice, I love to experiment. I still look at recipes for timing and seasoning suggestions, but for the most part everything I make is my own in some way.
A friend suggested a write a cookbook, so this is my way of starting one. There will be stories along the way that I hope you will read and enjoy as much as the recipes.
